Garden Girls was founded by Sarah Clemensen, a lifelong outdoor enthusiast with a deep respect for nature and the environments that surround us. Sarah began Garden Girls in March of 2002 as a small landscape maintenance operation. Through passion, determination, and an unwavering commitment to quality, the company steadily grew and was firmly established by 2006 as a trusted landscaping company serving the Salt Lake City and Park City areas. Today, Garden Girls has evolved into a full-service landscape design, development, and maintenance firm known for its craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail.

Before entering the landscaping industry, Sarah spent years as a professional telemark skier, traveling extensively and exploring landscapes around the world—from the Utah backcountry to destinations like Morocco. These experiences shaped her appreciation for natural environments and inspired the philosophy that continues to guide Garden Girls today: outdoor spaces should feel authentic, intentional, and deeply connected to their surroundings.

Sarah holds a Utah General Contractor’s License, allowing her to oversee complex landscape construction and development projects and bring thoughtful, well-crafted outdoor environments to life. Her dedication to quality and design excellence earned her Best of Salt Lake City in the Contractor category in 2017, recognizing her reputation for exceptional work within the industry.

Building Garden Girls was not only about creating a successful business—it was also about supporting and raising her two sons, who grew up alongside the company. Through the years, Sarah balanced the challenges of entrepreneurship and motherhood, often bringing her boys along as the business grew. Their encouragement and involvement have been an important part of Garden Girls’ journey, and they have contributed to its growth and spirit along the way.

Today, Sarah continues to lead Garden Girls with the same passion that started it all—creating beautiful, enduring landscapes while building a company rooted in hard work, family, and a deep connection to nature.
